Staff Stories
Hamish is 18 years old and recently just finished school. After spending the summer in his home town he was wanting a little more adventure for the winter. So for the 2024/25 winter season, he worked as a restaurant server at An dining, located in Ki Niseko.
The privilege of waking up every morning and having the ability to have such easy access to the slopes is pretty special. It’s also been great to learn about local traditions from Japanese staff.
Early mornings and late nights as a waiter mean that there is plenty of time to get out on the slopes, often during the best hours of the day. The fine dining scene is also something I find very interesting so I’ve enjoyed learning new skills for the role.
Just remember that there is more to the season than the slopes. The nature of a ski season attracts some really interesting people, I never realised how much I would enjoy getting to know such a wide range of people.
